Participants are required to attend in person and follow the current Los Angeles Department of Public Health guidelines for the prevention of COVID 19.
Course description
This course provides training for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, prevention and abatement of safety and health hazards in construction industry. This program also provides information regarding workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. This course is more appropriate for supervisors or workers with some safety responsibility.
Learning objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify works OSHA rights and employees responsibilities
- Identify OSHA Standards applicable to specific hazardous conditions
- Develop preventative measures for accidents in the workplace
- Describe the various types of personal protective equipment (PPE) available
- Identify various hazards associated with construction work
- Describe the elements of an Injury and Illness Prevention Program
- Describe elements required to manage health and safety
At the conclusion of the class, each participant will take a written examination.
Note: A 30 Hour OSHA Completion card is issued within 10 business days of completing the training. A temporary certificate can be issued for workers who need to show proof of completion.
